Growing up in Texas, my brothers and I were instilled with traditional southern values. Those values started with faith and family and ended with football and the outdoors.
My father “BURLEY” grew up in the Texas Hill Country. His passions were football and anything to do with the outdoors. During the spring he was riding bulls in local Texas rodeos and in the fall, he was focusing on football. All through his youth, busy or not, he was always trying to fit as many hunting and fishing trips in whenever he could. He played college football in west Texas at Angelo State University. After football he came back home to Austin Texas to raise my brothers and me while running the family business.
Growing up, I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps of playing football and being a great sportsman. I will never forget the countless number of times I would play a football game on Saturday and the same day we would race to the ranch in south Texas in hopes of an evening hunt. He would always teach me and help me along the way knowing, I wanted to be just like him. Football is what came next for me. I followed my fathers path of playing college football and was blessed enough to play in front of my hometown in Austin for The University of Texas Longhorns. After football, my next journey was a career and after a couple years working for big corporate companies, I followed in the family footsteps again by starting my own family run business BURLEBO.
